You've Read Our Email Newsletter...
Maybe It's Time You Published One Yourself

An email newsletter is one of the least expensive forms of marketing you can do. Just one call to your ISP or server can zip out 10,000 or more newsletters to your subscribers.

The primary function of an email newsletter is to be informative, and to build awareness and credibility. It may generate sales, but that is a secondary function. Above all, an email newsletter is information driven.

An email newsletter is routed right to your prospects’ desktops. Your marketing and name are right in front of the people you want to reach.

You can send it to more than one person per company. (If they happen to talk about it at the water cooler later that day, so much the better.)

Things To Do
Send information that is important to your subscribers. You want to provide them information that will help them improve their business.

Make sure the people you are sending it to want it or have requested it. You don’t want to have your prospects treat your email newsletter like spam or regard you as an annoyance.

Keep your information short, and easy to read. Confine your newsletter to one topic.

Include a notice in each newsletter that instructs prospects how to unsubscribe. Be attentive to their changing needs. Their job descriptions may change, and they may no longer need or want your newsletter.

Things To Not Do
Don’t send jokes (unless your business happens to be comedy-related).

Finally
If you have a web site, post your newsletter on it. It’s an informative marketing tool. The more people who see it, the better your chances of increasing awareness and generating sales. Be sure you include a notice about how to subscribe. People who visit your web site are not necessarily on your email newsletter list.

Here’s a special tip. If you have enough subscribers, you might want solicit several sponsors or advertisers for your newsletter. They can reach more prospects. You can generate a revenue stream to help defray costs.

Now that you know what’s behind our email newsletters, put one out there yourself.
